Zurich 4-Class Package
POJ Studio is excited to share the art of traditional ceramic repair with our first European pop-up in Zurich, Switzerland. For 4 weeks, POJ Studio will be hosting kintsugi classes at Limited Stock, a centrally located homewares store with a focus on handcrafted goods.
From June 5th to July 3rd we will be offering a range of classes from introductory sessions, to 2-day immersive experiences.
This pay-as-you-go plan includes 4 × 2-hour sessions with a repair professional, giving you the opportunity to deepen your kintsugi skills and continue progressing with your repair step by step.
Please note that these classes are held once per week, with at least one week between each session. Traditional kintsugi uses natural urushi lacquer, which needs time to cure before the next stage of the repair can begin. This waiting period is an essential part of the process and ensures the strength and longevity of the repair.
Class itinerary
- 1st Class: Rejoining broken pieces with mugi
- 2nd Class: Cleaning mugi, sealing gaps with sabi urushi
- 3rd Class: Sanding and reapplying sabi urushi
- 4th class: Sanding sabi and applying red urushi, with gold application demonstration
- *Please note the last class will run a half-hour late in order to demonstrate the last steps of the repair.
Because of this curing time, the four sessions cannot be scheduled on consecutive days or within the same week. The program is therefore best suited for guests who will be able to attend the first session in the first week of the Zurich pop-up (Friday June 5th or Saturday June 6th).
If you are not able to attend a session in the first week, we would be happy to recommend one of our single-session experiences instead.
Please contact experiences@pojstudio.mom if you have any questions about scheduling.

Urushi
While urushi can cause skin irritation in its raw, wet state, once it has completely cured and hardened, it is absolutely food safe. Urushi is one of the most durable natural materials and thus extremely well-suited for environmentally-responsible, long-lasting repair of ceramics, porcelain, and other wares.
I will be aware of my surroundings. If I accidentally come in contact with urushi, I will massage the affected area well with any plant-based oil straight away to remove urushi from my skin. I understand that POJ Studio is not liable for any adverse reactions caused by urushi.
Age requirement
The minimum age to participate in the workshop is 13 years old.
